Angelina Parrino was born in Darby, FL.

She received an MFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the Spring of 2020. Angelina is an interdisciplinary artist and writer, whose work has been exhibited with the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery (Tampa), The Emporium (Knoxville), Foley Gallery (NYC), The School House Gallery (York), Ewing Gallery (Knoxville), and was featured in Issue 10 of Maake Mag (curated by Nickola Pottinger) with an interview by Maura Clarke. In 2019 she was shortlisted for the Hopper Prize, as well as being the recipient of the Thomas Fellowship: a prestigious award in support of thesis work with real-world implications.

Her expansive practice includes book arts, drawing, printmaking, creative fiction and installation art; during the pandemic her piece “Immergere” was long-listed for a Short Story Prize with Fish Publishing (Judge: Emily Ruskovich) followed by “Penumbra” in 2022 (Judge: Sarah Hall). She is developing a series of artists’ books that integrate visual and literary aspects of her research, and recently completed an internship with IS Projects in Miami, Florida. She presently works at The University of Tampa, where she designs and teaches a rigorous and inclusive arts curriculum. She was appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor for Fall 2023.

In her spare time, Angelina enjoys gardening, observing Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis), reading, arranging (flowers, rooms, words), and spending time with her family at the home that her dad built.
